The Leipzig Exhibition Centre hosted the seventh GC - Games Convention. GC – Games Convention announced winners in nine categories: The best PC game, Best Xbox 360 Game, Best PSP Game, Best PS3 Game, Best Wii Game, Best NDS Game, Best Mobile Game, Best Online Game, Best Hardware and Best PS2 Game. Here is the list of happy winners:
Best Xbox 360 Game: MIRROR’S EDGE - Electronic Arts (EA);
Best PSP Game: RESISTANCE: RETRIBUTION -Sony Computer Entertainment Deutschland;
Best Wii Game: SKATE IT - Electronic Arts (EA);
Best NDS Game: SONIC CHRONICLES: Die Dunkle Bruderschaft - SEGA;
Best Mobile Game: PES 2009 - Konami;
Best Online Game: Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning - GOA GOA (developed by Mythic Entertainment);
Best Hardware: PlayTV - Sony Computer Entertainment Deutschland;
Best PS2 Game: As well as there were too few entrants no award was made in this category.
GC 2008's success is proven by the sheer number of visitors who dropped in: over the four-day period, some 203,000 people came in. Compared to last year, the number of software and hardware companies from around the world who participated in the Leipzig event has increased, from 189 to 234.
This Games Convention in Leipzig was held from 20-24 august. GC 2009 will be held from August 19 to 23, also in Leipzig.
